The Dog Ate My Glasses!

After months of compiling data from all five of our Michiana Eye Center locations, we have reached some surprising conclusions regarding our four-legged friends.

Beginning in February 2018, our Mishawaka, South Bend, Plymouth, Elkhart, and Goshen opticians were asked to collect and record any incidents in which a dog betrayed the trust of their owner with their voracious appetite for eye wear. In total, 42 incidents were reported during the six-month period.

One location surpassed the rest.

Our Elkhart location saw, on average, about 3.2 cases of dog-eaten eyeglasses per month, suggesting a proclivity toward eye wear for teething puppies and hungry hounds within the city's limits.

Which dogs love eyeglasses the most?

Clearly the preferred choice for "mutts," Labrador Retrievers, German Shepherds, and Golden Doodles, the appeal of eyeglasses may come down to one simple reason- if an owner cannot see, they cannot leave their best furry friend behind.

Reviews From Our Satisfied Patients

  • "Dr. Anderson and his staff are so patient and friendly. Dr. Anderson prescribed me glasses and I had the toughest time picking out frames. They didn’t rush, but instead made helpful suggestions and now I have an awesome pair of frames, not to mention the fact that I can see ten times better than before. You guys are the best!"
