Autologous Serum Eye Drops

Eye drops created by you, for you.

When store-bought artificial tears and lubricating gels are not enough, we may recommend special eye drops made from you. Using your blood, the red blood cells are removed and the remaining vitamin-rich plasma becomes your drops. Due to the high similarities between your blood and your tears, the serum drops have a greater healing property.

When our patients decide on pursuing the serum drops, we refer them to a clinic for blood draws and the samples are sent to a compounding pharmacy. When the patient receives their drops, it is usually a 3 month supply. Care for the drops include freezing the vials and refrigerating them on a as-needed basis.
