At Michiana Eye Center, we take vision correction very seriously. Nearly 3 in every 4 people in the U.S. require some degree of vision correction, with most of those individuals wearing glasses or contacts on a daily basis. That is why we feature a comprehensive optical shop designed to address your corrective eyewear needs from start to finish.
After visiting the optometrist for a new prescription, our opticians will work to find the frames, lenses and lens treatments that will accommodate your individual needs. We offer a wide selection of frames that fit the whole family. Whether you need a strong, scratch-resistant glasses for your child or a sophisticated pair of frames for work, we will work with you from start to finish to ensure your satisfaction.
We also offer a wide selection of contact lenses in many fits, types and sizes. Many patients are candidates for contact lenses, including those with astigmatism and those who require multifocal lenses. Our optical shop stocks all types of lenses, including monthly, weekly and daily disposable lenses, as well as gas permeable lenses and non-prescription colored contacts.
Our opticians not only help with frame and lens selection, but they also ensure a custom fit. Frames are carefully measured and adjusted to comfortably fit the face, preventing slippage or discomfort. Our staff can even assist first-time contact wearers in putting their lenses in, as well as provide tips for proper care and lens hygiene.
Lenses and Treatments Available Onsite in our State of the Art Laboratory
Many optical centers outsource lens and frame fabrication to offsite labs. This can add several days or even weeks to the time a person must wait for new glasses. At Michiana Eye Center, we handle eyewear manufacturing in-house using cutting edge technology and highly trained opticians and technicians who are skilled in prescription lens creation. Our techs often begin working on patient lenses the same day, providing a rapid turnaround time and greater convenience for our customers.
Furthermore, an onsite lab means patients wait less time for replacement frames and lenses during an eyewear emergency. In just hours, we can replace or repair frames and lenses, including bifocals and multifocals. We also offer greater affordability and expanded service options right here in our office. For example, patients who receive a new prescription from our optometrist may opt to replace only their lenses, avoiding the added expense of frame selection.
We keep many lenses on-hand right here in our office. Our lab can produce specially treated lenses with the latest in optical technology, including no-line progressive lenses, transitional lenses, no-glare coatings and more. Finally, our computerized surfacing and finishing equipment will calculate the ideal curvature of your lens and fit it to your chosen frames
